I’m a southern girl who loves Disney, rom-coms (my hobbies include board games, watercolor painting, as well as skiing down snow covered mountains), and helping you capture the perfect images of you and your love on your wedding day!

hi there!

I'm Valorie Kelley

In fact, I have a degree in Music from one of the largest Christian universities in the world. But I caught the bug when I was busy planning my own wedding to my hunky, New England Patriots loving husband Joey.

In my free time, you can catch me in the aisles at Target or Home Goods, chowing down at my fave Mexican restaurant, and filling up my iPhone’s storage with photos of my sweet girls. And when the girls are asleep, I’ll be hard at work growing my business with a little help from Ghiradelli (sea salt caramel of course). After all, a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down. And by medicine I mean paperwork.

I wasn’t always a professional photographer, though my first hot pink polaroid brand digital camera would beg to differ.

In the words of Mary Poppins, “In every job that must be done there is an element of fun,” and my idea of a good time is helping you actualize your perfect wedding. Serial planners like Erin Condren and I thrive on schedules and bright colors, and I am always up for a party. From helping you organize your day so you can be stress-free and of course capturing the story of y-o-u when the big day finally arrives from behind my camera, I’m here to help every step of the way!

I never thought that I would be making my living serving brides and grooms as they navigate one of the most stressful (and amazing) times of their lives, but when I saved what little money I had scraped together in freshman year and bought my first DSLR, I knew that my world was about to change. There’s something magical about being able to tell the stories of so many different people through a digital medium, and to freeze time at the exact moment that two become one. Now that two years have passed since I started this crazy journey of business-ownership with the best ever business partner-second shooter-husband extraordinaire, I can’t imagine doing anything else!

why

wedding photography

I’ve heard it before, “Why are you a photographer when you have a degree? Seems like a waste of money to me.” I’ve always loved photography, and I took pictures of friends as they celebrated their victories and their relationships while in college. On a whim, I reached out to a local photographer, and volunteered my arms and shoulders to carry her equipment should she ever need an assistant. To my surprise, she allowed me to accompany her on an engagement shoot and I got to watch her make the shoot magical for her couple; it was as if we were flies on the wall during one of their actual dates! Fast forward to when Joey and I had our engagement shoot, and I remember just having so much fun being photographed, and I felt like a princess on my wedding day, only to have all of the beautiful memories captured and hung on the walls of our home. That sealed the deal for me. I knew that I was meant to make other couples recognize the transformative power and beauty of true love, helping them feel as special as Joey and I felt.

Believe me when I say that when I started this journey, I was full of doubt. Now, I still have doubts, but my dreams are bigger. As women especially, we spend so much time and energy (and $$$) to meet some standard of beauty set by a world fueled by Instagram followers, glossy magazine pages, and the desire to be seen.

I hope to help you recognize how absolutely, unapologetically, inarguably incredible you are! Perhaps the most powerful moment of any wedding is the moment when the groom sees his bride coming down the aisle for the first time. The moment I saw Joey standing at the altar with tears in his eyes, time stood still and I knew this was the start of something amazing.

I want to be able to show you how your eyes light up when you see the love of your life in their dress or their tux. I want to show you the tenderness you and your love share during your first dance as husband and wife, and how your smile captivates the attention of the one you will share your forever with.

My goal in this business, is to help you enjoy the ride as you work to make your dream wedding come to life, and to capture beautiful, authentic photos that can be hung on the walls of your first home, to be shared with the world online, your closest family and friends on your invitations, and someday with your children as you pass on your heirloom wedding album.

If you take anything away from these biographical ramblings, let it be this:

You are STUNNING, in more ways than you could ever imagine.

let's play a little game of

two truths and one lie

We all have quirks. See if you can pick mine! You’ve played this game before, two are true, and one’s a lie, your job is to pick the fib. Now hurry up and pick before my nose grows...

1. In my house, Christmas decorations come out at 12:00 AM on November 1st.
2. My favorite thing to have for dinner is a big bowl of spaghetti bolognese.
3. I hid from the police while traveling overseas because I had misplaced my passport.

If you picked number 2 as the lie, you’re right! You’ll never catch me with a forkful of spaghetti, or any other pasta for that matter.
